Hybrid 4-Day Calendar for 2024-2025 Approved

On March 11, 2024, at the regular monthly meeting, the Oregon-Howell R-III Board of Education approved the adoption of the hybrid 4-day school week calendar for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.  The calendar is being distributed to the school patrons early in an attempt to allow for scheduling and arrangements as needed by our families.  Below, you will find a list of answers to frequently asked questions to aid in clarification. 

  • The school day will remain the same length, 8:10am-3:16pm, for all students PreK-12th.

  • School will be in session for the state required 1044 instructional hours.  We will attend school the same amount of days.

  • Bus pickup and dropoff times will not change.

  • West Plains bus riders will continue to be able to use the rural school buses to the Civic Center and will also be dropped back off in time to ride the rural school buses home.

  • Students who are interested in VOTECH will still have the opportunity to attend.

  • Students will not be given additional coursework to complete at home on the days we are not in session beyond normal homework they have not finished during class time.

  • The district will provide childcare for students enrolled in the district on non-holiday/non-vacation Mondays when school is not in session on the calendar dates listed below.
