Mrs. Smith's Science Department was awarded the Association of American Educators October grant opportunity of $500. When asked about how the grant would be used, Mrs. Smith stated, "When you teach science, you soon learn one of the most useful tools in your classroom is the microscope. More “ah, ha” moments have occurred when I implemented the use of microscopes than with any other teaching tool at my disposal. With the impact of COVID-19, we as teachers, now more than ever, need to capture our student’s interest and boost achievement in any way we can." With the $500 grant awarded by AAE, the Oregon-Howell R-III School District was able to purchase (5)- SWIFT Compound Monocular Microscopes SW200DL with 40X-1000X Magnification, Dual Light, Precision Fine Focus, Wide-Field 25X Eyepiece and Cordless Capability. After receiving the microscopes, Mrs. Smith remarked, "The use of this grant has made our Biology curriculum much richer. Students are always excited about the labs we do and classroom participation of all learners is better facilitated. Thank you American Association of Educators for making grants like this available."

Blood Drive, Tuesday, December 10th, 1:00-5:00pm in the Gym

Scholar Bowl traveled to Houston,Missouri, Saturday. Although neither team placed and no one brought home a medal, Mrs. Phipps is very proud of those who made the effort to attend. Everyone tried to answer questions and worked together. She expects them to continue to improve as the year progresses. Good job!!
Freshman FACS completed making their own pattern and hand stitching their stuffed animals. They will now be sewing pillows and aprons.

Week at a Glance, November 18-22
Join us Tuesday, November 19th, as we welcome the Cabool Bulldogs and the Gainesville Bulldogs to town for preseason basketball. Games will begin at 5:00 and the concession stand will be adding Walking Tacos and Chili to the menu.
We are scheduled for a blood drive on December 10th with the hours of 1:00-5:00pm. Our goal is set to collect 15 pints of blood. This is American Red Cross and the Kosh FCCLA will be putting it on for one of our December community service projects.
With the recent disasters caused by Hurricane Helene, the demand for blood is high and it is our promise to keep the hospitals ready to care for those in need. Also, with the holidays approaching, an increase in accidents occurs due to frequent traveling. The units we collect this month and next will ensure we reach stable blood supply levels again soon!
